Are You Stuck?

I love talking about the power of thought and how it creates your reality. It’s my jam. There’s a lot of science proving this to be true, and in 2022, Forbes wrote an article about thought and the Placebo effect. If you aren’t familiar with the effect, here’s a link to the article. While not synonymous with the Placebo effect, I’m always amazed at our ability to make the past just as real as our present. I’ll talk a lot about both in the coming posts.

Getting back to the topic at hand, last night I was hanging out with my wonderful friends at the St. Matthews Chamber of Commerce. Of course, I got to talking about the neuropsychology of thought in creating where we are in life. It’s those darn repetitive thoughts that get us!!! You know, when we relive that thing that happened that day… way back when. The guy, the girl, the boss, the parent, the sister, the car wreck. Whatever that moment was, and I’m sure you have one, that seemed to have changed everything in your life. My goodness, how easy it is to relieve it and remain in that moment for years!!!

So, while I love learning and talking about the beauty of our wacky brains, the conversation reminded me of a phenomenal two-and-a-half-minute video that I want to share with you.

No matter how often I watch TD Jakes during this sermon about holding on to the past, I get goosebumps. It’s pretty life-changing! Enjoy!!!
